Mutukwa Mooya

Mutukwa Mooya works for the public-service and state-owned broadcaster the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC). She heads a unit responsible for producing Radio and Television programmes in the SiLozi language—one of the seven major local languages that broadcast at ZNBC—as part of ZNBC’s policy to reach out to everyone, without leaving anyone behind where information is concerned. She has won several awards at the national and international level for science, agricultural, health, environmental and development journalism, the apex being the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Award. Other than ensuring quality control on radio and television programmes before broadcast she, among others, produces a 60-minute interactive show dubbed Our Environment, Our Future, which focuses on several environmental issues, including climate change. Mutukwa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Science.
